"We ask customers who have a coconut allergy to throw this product out immediately to ensure they do not experience any health issues," said Brian Wright, Winn-Dixie's vice president of communications and government relations.

The recalled pies are labeled with the numbers 4300 on the bottom of the plastic pie container. The product UPC code is 2114000081. To our knowledge, Winn-Dixie has received no reports of any issues associated with consumption at this time.

Consumers who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to coconut products are urged not to consume and return products to the store for a full refund. To receive the refund, customers may present proof of purchase through a receipt or the product-packaging label.

The most common symptoms of a food allergy include tingling or itching of the mouth, hives, swelling of the mouth and face, difficulty breathing, abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting and dizziness.
