Funny, I've always seen it with silica.  Another variety has had apricot pits in the last, but I don't use that one. Too harsh.

It has had walnut shells in it as long as I can remember.  I have used it since high school. Maybe just the Canadian Version?

I've used this stuff forever, and it was always made with silica. 

When I picked it up this week, the packaging change made me look at the ingredients, and I saw it is now made with walnut shells, along with a few other changes.
