Well, yes, I've thought about that.  You need to rinse them well.  They can be dirty, there can be rocks.  They're pretty unprocessed, so it seems like I just shouldn't worry overmuch.  But you never know.

I don't.  I wash them before use and (NO advice) I've even used bulk beans.    As noted, this is NOT something that I'd encourage other FA families to do.

Do you worry much about cross contamination with dried beans if you deal with PA?

I'm so illogical. I've bought store brand split peas many a time. Now when I want to buy some different things, and maybe a different store brand, it's worrying me.
