FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - May 3, 2014 - Wells Enterprises, Inc., maker of Blue Bunny ice cream said today it has recalled Blue Bunny Premium Bordeaux Cherry Chocolate Ice Cream sold at retail grocery stores in Kansas, Indiana and Iowa because the product may contain egg not declared on the label.

People who are allergic to egg could have a severe reaction if they consume this product. For consumers who are not allergic to egg, there is no safety issue with this product. No customer illnesses have been reported to date.

The recalled Blue Bunny Premium Bordeaux Cherry Chocolate Ice Cream, sold in 56 fluid ounce packages with LOT #40010 TTT 19115 18:00 4100 and a UPC 070640034123 with a Best Used By Date of 10/9/15, was distributed to a limited number of stores in Kansas, Indiana and Iowa.

Customers in the impacted states should return the product to stores for a full refund or replacement.
