Good luck!  I think your reasoning is extremely sound.  This is the attitude with which we've approached both of DD's food challenges.

In a few months, we will be having an IOFC at CHOP.  I'm nervous and excited ... and either way ... it will be good to know.  I wish it could happen before school starts, but at least they have agreed to do it.

If we pass, wow ... I am not going to go there yet in my mind.  Keep hope in its place for now.

If we fail, dd will know what a reaction can feel like (hasn't had one since she was a baby) and we as a family will know that what we are doing to keep her safe is necessary.
