I called Lactaid today.  The butter pecan ice cream no longer has peanuts in it, just pecans. 

She said the vanilla, chocolate, and cookies & cream are listed as having no peanuts.

She said that the other ice cream flavors it says information is not available.  She said that means that they can't guarantee the source of the ingredients for the other flavors is an ingredient free from peanut contamination.  The n/a flavors are butter pecan, mint chocolate chip, berry blast, and salted caramel chip. 

Why does it seem like Great Value wants our business more these days?  I can even appreciate the products that are not safe.  Heck, even some of them have clued me into why DS1 has refused or reacted to things that have been a mystery, ie certain broths.

Jessica, those were my thoughts exactly.  I was very clearly told that they could not guarantee that there was NOT cross-contamination and that PA/TNA should not use the milk.   The inconsistent responses concern me.  I will not be allowing Lactaid into my house anymore.  The Great Value lactose free milk does not have a warning so I am switching to that for DH.  (It's cheaper anyway.)

wow. What if the person was out to lunch and the milk was *not* safe and the sub said it was? They need to make sure whoever is giving info, whether it's the regular or not, is giving out correct information.

Has it changed for supplements?  I thought it didn't have to be required as being labeled (may have changed).  I think they have Robo-email readers, you may have to call directly to find your answer. 

Course McNeil is having issues - Tylenol, Motrin, Zyrtec. 

I'm getting the feeling this company does NOT want to disclose any information. Seriously?? I asked about shared lines/facilities, not actual ingredients (which, hard to believe, I can read for myself right on the box). Is it that hard a question?

DH drinks Lactaid and I occasionally give it to the kids if I run out of their regular milk. I gave DD some of DH's milk yesterday and this morning. Both days she has complained of a stomach ache after drinking it. I didn't think anything of it until this morning when she complained specifically of nausea. I checked the Lactaid website and saw that they make butter pecan ice cream with peanuts in it! I had no idea that they made anything other than milk! I called and asked about shared equipment and the rep told me they do share equipment and anyone who has a PN/TNA should not use their products. Since we are still relatively new to food allergies (5 months) I am still really diligent about checking manufacturers. I can't believe I never checked on this! I feel like I just got caught sleeping on the job. 

She drank the milk about 2 hours ago and seems fine. (DH stayed home from work with her) No hives, no vomiting, and says she no longer feels nauseated. Hopefully its just normal stomach upset and not cross contamination.

Wow that is bad. They are dealing with food intolerance and don't even label for cross contamination?? We use lactaid chewables here but only my NKA dd and ds use it. I'll be sure to let them know that PA/TNA dd is not to touch it at all.

Oh. Seriously? My son is lactose-intolerant, and I use his milk in things like pancakes for the whole family. We've mostly been using Dean's lately, but we sometimes buy Lactaid. OMG, I would never have thought there could be a serious peanut risk.
