When you call, sometimes you just get a rep who hasn't been properly trained yet...or is lazy   I trust a written response better because it is clearer and carefully worded.  It also confirmed exactly what they told me previously so I am satisfied, but everyone has to make their own decision.  Brownie

I noticed the "may contain" bars are the new crunchy variety.  Are they now labeling the original ones as may contain also?

Yes, I did post about this in another thread.  I emailed, no answer so I called and got the "we can't guarantee" type answer.

My DD loves the bars and they are easy to keep in her locker for a quick snack.  Maybe.....I will....but first question again with Kellogg's why the different information.  Let them know if they want me to trust them, they must be consistent with their message!

Nutrigrain bars are a go-to for us.  Raspberry went into the lunchbox this morning.

Well I got a very quick response below from Kelloggs.  I specifically called out nutri-grain.  I am satisfied that nothing has changed.  One uniformed consumer service technician does not always answer your questions, but this is their policy in writing.  I don't want to lose Kellogg's...we already don't use Kraft.

You definitely can trust our labeling. Scientific evidence has shown that consumers with peanut and tree nut allergies can have a severe reaction to amounts that are below the current detectable limits based on existing technology. For this reason, we have chosen to warn consumers allergic to peanuts and tree nuts of the potential for extremely low levels by using a may contain statement. Exactly.   That's why I suggested keeping an eye on the Walmart packaging since my guess is, like with their version of Special K bars, they're really Kellogg's (but with accurate warning labels).

Keebler and Kellogg's may not have identical policies.  Different divisions, different manufacturing facilities, possibly different labeling standards.

We've always been wary of Kellogg's.  I can count on one hand the number of products we've ever used from them.  Rice Krispies cereal, large boxes of plain RKT's, and-- at one time, anyway-- Nutrigrain bars.

We've not used the Special K bars in many years-- because I saw a look-alike product that was in IDENTICAL packaging-- even the same nutritional info and ingredients label... except for the NUT WARNING ON IT.  That was the day that I stopped assuming that Kellogg's labeled for shared lines the way Keebler does.
KEEBLER's website has very different allergen info than Kellogg's does.

Arghh.  I am surprised because when I spoke to Kellogg's a couple of years ago I got the same story.  They ALWAYS label if it's in the area is what I was told back then.  If not, we now can't trust any of their food.  They are Keebler so the same rules would apply.  Time to go send an email.  Brownie

There is a Kashi version of nutrigrain bars and I believe they do label for shared lines. I haven't called or emailed in quite a while though.

Yep, same response I got with the Special K bars (that DS reacted to).    Is there a Walmart version of the nutrigrain bars?  If so, keep an eye on those to see if a warning pops up... 

I think it was PurpleCat that posted this in another thread. Nutri-Grain bars (a ....um....staple in our house) now has some flavors with nuts.  I called Kellogg's and was told that anything that could contain traces of nuts would have a may contain nut warning.  I asked how it was produced, was it on shared lines, and the response that I got was "we don't have that detailed information. It's possible, but we do a thorough cleaning between lines and we test for it". So....even though there's no warning on the boxes I'm looking at, according to the rep I spoke to there is a possibility of shared lines.

If anyone else eats these regularly, I'd be curious what kind of response you get if you're up for calling.
