Title: New Component Test on the Way?
Post by: GoingNuts on May 31, 2016, 07:40:56 PM
DS went to the allergist today to renew his Epipens, etc., and his allergist told him there is a new component test coming for Tree Nuts, and may be available as early as later this summer.  Of course DS didn't get details (And he doesn't want me coming with him anymore since he's really an adult. Sort of.), but he actually seems pretty excited about it. He never wanted to do the peanut component test because he figured it wasn't worth it because he still had to avoid tree nuts.

This could be pretty cool.  8-)

Aha - this is what I found. Still nothing for pistachio.

Our allergist told us earlier this spring that the different tree nut tests exist...the insurance companies are trying to figure out what they will and will not cover.  DD is on a list to be tested when the decisions are made.
