Title: interesting collection of fb posts
Post by: Mfamom on September 10, 2012, 08:06:57 PM
Okay, there is a mom page for my town on Facebook....I noticed a pattern, here's a select few to give you an idea...

Another silly new-school-Mom question! What's the deal with buying milk in the schools? Do they get it at lunch time or is there a snack time? My husband says they get enough milk at home, but if I don't buy it for them, will they be the only ones not getting milk in their class???

My daughter wants an over the shoulder bag instead of a backpack for school. Besides Vera Bradley, where should I go? Who has a selection?  She won't use the regular backpack now because all the girls have shoulder bags and I don't want her to feel weird.

Do the kids need their backpacks the first day? Since they have no school supplies to bring in? Just curious because the guidance counselor told me just a pad and paper, but I want others opinion. Thanks
(latershe said she didn't want her kidto be the only one without a backpack)

so, my point is....look at 3 people worried about their kid being left out/standing out etc.  Makes me wonder why sometimes it s so difficult for moms to understand how we feel when our kids are excluded because of their allergies...

Oh. wow.  Give me the link. I'll give them some other stuff to worry about.

Kidding. But wow.

The second one--I nearly spit my beverage all over my screen.

Quoteso, my point is....look at 3 people worried about their kid being left out/standing out etc.  Makes me wonder why sometimes it s so difficult for moms to understand how we feel when our kids are excluded because of their allergies...

It's not about not understanding....it's about not caring.

I agree.

Their probable answer would be "SO?  We all have problems.  You have your-- um-- allergy-stuff, I guess, and I have problems too."

The real problem is that you just can't know what you don't know.   :-/

Somewhat less charitably, of course, I think this is a fantastic example of Special Snowflake syndrome.  <sigh>

The mother in the second post should know that all the kids have now moved on to using Louis Vuitton shoulder bags... :insane:

My point was the "theme of the discussions.
They are all worried about their kids fitting in, not.being excluded our different.  Could be points to use next time e see upagainst moms who won't help or who complain, about our, kids exclusions.  (sorry for all the commas phone keeps adding them)

Right.  My point and SL's is that yes, people really are that malevolently self-centered.  Of COURSE they care about their kids fitting in.  That's not to say that they care about anyone else's kids at all.

Yes, I'm cynical.

And hey, if your kid doesn't fit in, that just makes my kid look that much better.  I mean, yeah she got a Juicy bag instead of Vera, so she was feeling a little like an outcast, but since your kid is so weird and carries medicine in a pouch and all, her Juicy bag looks pretty cool in comparison.  :footinmouth:
