Title: Kevala Tahini
Post by: maeve on June 20, 2013, 06:01:04 PM
Someone on Facebook posted about Kevala tahini.  I emailed the company to inquire about whether the tahini were free of nuts.

Hello Maeve,

Thanks for contacting us, our Tahini is made on a peanut free facility, in fact the facility is exclusive for sesame seed products. Thus it is also dairy free, nut free, gluten free.

The almond butters and cashew butters are made on other location that share equipment with other tree nuts but it is also a strict Peanut Free facility.

Hope this information helps,

I'm writing to inquire about your tahini.  Is it made on shared lines with peanuts or tree nuts?  I noticed that you also make an almond butter and cashew butter.  Are those made on the same equipment and/or in the same facility as the tahini?  Thanks.

I've never had tahini. What do you do with it?

It's kind of a paste/butter made of ground sesame seeds.  It's used in making hummus.  You can also make salad dressing with it.

Many brands of tahini are cross-contaminated with tree nuts.

Thank you. We've never tried giving dd chickpeas but I think a salad dressing with it would be good.
