Title: Coeliac disease
Post by: notoriousdeev on December 16, 2013, 01:03:01 PM
Hi there,

My name is EilĂs Deevy, and I'm a final year Applied Psychology student As part of my course I must complete a thesis and i have chosen to research the area of social support and coeliac disease.

Basically, I am interested in finding out whether people with coeliac disease find that they get most of their social support from family and friends in an offline setting, or whether they feel that they get more support and advice in an online setting, such as this website. Furthermore, I will be looking at the effect that this perceived social support has on their well-being.

To test this, I have compiled a survey about social support and coeliac disease which takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. I would be forever grateful if any adults with coeliac disease could complete this survey as it would be truly invaluable to my research!! :) Thanks guys!

Just as an FYI, there are just a few Celiac sufferers here as the majority of members here are dealing with allergies.

Have you posted at www.celiac.com? (http://www.celiac.com?)

I had a feeling that might be the case. Getting participants is proving to be more difficult than I anticipated! Thanks for that link!!

Good luck! You might call a local GI doctor and ask if he/she would let you put up a sign in the waiting room with those little pull of papers at the bottom.
