That was on CBC a week or two ago.  Not sure how much in the yahoo article but...

It's a French daycare in an English province.  Almost always at least one parent must be fluent in English to have your child in that day care.  (Dad is not, so I'm guessing mom is.).

The sign at the door saying no outside food allowed is in French only.

Parents signed a contract agreeing not to send outside food and what the consequences would be.

~~~
My own opinion is, what the heck was a toddler doing carrying food in the car?  Toddler should not be alone in the back seat with food.  How did toddler hide food from dad, yet daycare worker saw it IMMEDIATELY as she was walking in?
I don't like the wording...a two year old was suspended.  But, that might be a letter all translation.  And even if not, the wording isn't a big deal.
Dad needs to get over himself.  Read your contract.
I don't know many daycares that would go to this length - but great. The thing is - for a food policy to work -- it needs
be ruled with an iron fist.
But suspended?  That seems extreme.
That said--my toddler had food in the car sometimes. But it looks like that kind of thing wasn't at play here.  It seems the kid probably stashed it away and had it at school.
