Title: movie popcorn
Post by: hk on December 27, 2014, 06:37:43 PM
Does anyone ever get movie popcorn for the allergic person in their family?  After years of bringing our own, I asked the theater manager about it today.  He said it was popped in canola oil and let me read the box.  We didn't get any since I still don't know about the chance of cross-contamination.  Im just curious if anyone has any experience, good or bad, with movie popcorn.

We do, and we deal with peanut, sesame and shellfish. We don't get added bitter because it's yucky and unnecessary.

We don't.  I won't let DD.  Have you ever seen those counter people wash their hands?  And they handle everything.  Much less stressful to bring our own.

In IL, our movie theater said it was not safe for TNA because they popped it in coconut oil.

When PA was still an issue for DS, we used to let him get the popcorn.  But he often wanted candy instead anyway, which if course is an easier decision.  I just told them I needed to read the label before deciding whether he was getting it.

DS eats it with no problem, but checks each tome in case of different supplier.
