When my son was 18 months old he was allergic  to eggs and peanuts. As soon as his eggs went away there comes all the treenuts. Now he has outgrown all the tree nuts and we were only left with peanut but now he started  reacting to other legumes as in chickpeas and lentils.....We had to take a leave of absence from college because he's reacting to everything he eats. (No hives or swelling just throat itchy which the doctor said is a oas from b****

Ps Also, now he's allergic to eggs and bananas too. He can eat eggs just not undercooked ones

He is so upset because he was doing so well at college as is sophomore year

Milk is his favorite drink and it just started making his throat itch.

Any ideas...My son is a total foodie too. He is 20 years old. Could something be making his immune system go into overdrive

I'm so sorry to hear this is happening.  The only thing I can think of is Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, but I really don't know much about it so no idea if it really fits this situation.

I hope it gets figured out quickly!

:grouphug: I don't know what it could be, but hopefully someone has more ideas.  Can he get other testing?

Rambling that may or may not be helpful...

So banana can be cross reactive with latex.  Not sure if he is wearing rain coats at college (poorly worded euphemism but hoping you get drift - just remind him he doesn't have to share with you but with medical professionals). Currently I'm still considered sensitive so I avoid as much as possible but full allergy cup/illness make it worse.

This is my season of unexplained hives, welts, itchies, phlegmy, vague sore throat. I spent years looking at foods, drugs, etc but it was ragweed.  And yes, it kinda triggered symptoms that mimicked food reactions. But it's hard to decipher environmental when you also have food/drug allergies because of mimicking symptoms.

DS1 started Xolair a few months ago.  First week of each cycle was exhaustion and body aches (but also be related to a person who normally works 2nd shift getting up early for appts).  He did end up with off tummy & fever first week of shot but not sure if Xolair or the permanent crud circulating his office.
DS1 - Wheat, rye, barley and egg
DS2 - peanuts
DD -  tree nuts, soy and sunflower
Me - bananas, eggplant, many drugs

My son was having severe reactions to latex. Turned out staff at restaurants were wearing latex gloves when preparing food.

That's also how I found out he was allergic to banana.
