I think this belongs in Traveling/Restaurants, but wanted to get a quick answer as they depart soon for camp.

The plan is to stop at the A&W in Park Rapids (I'm going to send along a bag lunch just in case there isn't anything that sounds safe at A&W) , and then the camp said they can accommodate pn/tn allergies.

Just wondered if anyone has experience with this camp and how they handle the food.

Also, what sort of bug spray is needed at this camp? I bought Repel lemon eucalyptus spray. But heard it's not effective for some types of mosquitos.  So went out and bought some bug spray with DEET.  I know it's harmful, but just don't know what to do except send them with a couple of types of mosquito repellent and hope the mildest one works!

We use Off family.

When my child has gone to church camp we've talked with the kitchen about specific foods and brand and how they handle food in the kitchen. We also sent along some frozen food he did not need. We also supplied them with several jars of sunbutter that they used at the sandwich station instead of PB.

Picaridin has the best compromise of efficacy:toxicity. From there it's a matter of inactive ingredient reading for FA.

I don't know what states use this camp, but I have messaged the one person I know who DH's the greatest likelihood of having experience there.

I forgot to add that Many Point is in MN and is used by troops from all over the US.

We are taking safe snacks and hope to store them in the commissary.

I can't remember what we got for bug spray besides Repel and Repel 100 (98% DEET), and BugBand (with geraniol) wipes.

We are in Minnesota, but unfortunately we do not have any experience with this camp.  My DS has attended other camps here and we have been able to put accommodations in place.  I would call and speak to the kitchen manager, most are familiar in accommodating PN/TN allergies, but you may need to work with the camp to come up with specific accommodations necessary for your child.

I am a little old school on the deet.  I would rather use it than to have my child bitten up from Mosquitoes.  They were horrible in northern MN early July, but we were in the area last weekend and the mosquitoes have gotten better (the cooler weather helps slow them down).  Usually a shower before bed to wash it off is all that is required.

Best of luck!
