This is a failure by the child's doctors.  Very tragic.   Preventable if parents are given information.

What a heartbreaking story.  And I am sure there is more to it.  This ending makes me very angry!

He returned a verdict of death by misadventure and recommended people with allergies be given "some sort of objective evidence" they can show to third parties in emergencies.


Save a child's life, ask questions later!  Fix the problem later!  Get your "evidence" later!

Sounds like the pharmacists is covering his own @$$. 

Assume a calm mother comes in and asks for epi....sorry no, don't have a Rx, but someone's been in contact with satay.

(First...who the heck would say "someone" but even so.....imagine she did.)

Pharmacist says NO.  Would he not say.....did the person with allergy touch/eat it? Would he not ask....is the person having a reaction?

Half a brain and yes he would.
