My daughter is living in a rented house at uni, and has teen onset food allergies and environmental allergies, dust mite cat re terrible and hay fever tree pollen.  We think she has had a nasty reaction to the mould in her house, and had to bring her home yesterday.
Her face has pretty severe eczema and her face has swollen up considerably, the local GP gave her 1% steroid for her face, and dirprobase moisturiser and 10mg antihistamine once a day.
She woke up this morning and it looked worse. huge swollen eyes, unable to see for a while, and cant open her mouth very wide.
swelling around chin and neck as well. Very red skin and horribly sore looking.
Took her to hospital and doctors there did blood test, no infection, and checked her chest, all clear. Has been given cream for infected eye.
Told us that the stuff we have will take longer to work. so need to be more patient
However she is in great pain, so I have been giving her pain killers.
Has anyone else had this problem?
We are going back to GP to get her referred to a dermo but am sure this will take a few weeks to get appointment.
Also giving her a fan heater as mould in room is due to no heating to take back with her when she recovers.
It looks dreadful. and bear in mind I have seen some nasty facial swellings from my other allergic child , this tops the lot.
I woudnt worry about swelling on its own, but the eyes are bloodshot, and sore, and once the skin thats swelled goes down a huge white ring with red skin appears.
At what point does swelling impact the eyes and damage them?
We do have epi pens for her milk allergy, and if her tongue or throat start to swell we will use them.
Its OK to have dreams:one day my kids will be legal adults & have the skills to pick up a bath towel.

Oh yikes. That sounds awful. Can you and DH go and do some remediation so it's not so bad?
