They need to be covered by insurance. People need to buy so many with the hope of throwing them out unused. Many will stick with the cheaper.

I've never seen an epi-pen good for two years. Best I've ever personally seen was 16 or 18 months.

A thorough article, but with poor information (very old EpiPen and Twinject details). I can see many flaws with this design: complicated use, moving parts, no visible instructions for bystanders, 3 month expiry, size (it looks really big to be a bracelet, and boys don't generally wear bracelets), and more...
