Macabre

candyguru I don't know how accurate it is to talk about people having dropped off who haven't been here at all in the last ten years or more, yk?  They essentially haven't been a part of this community--this one.

Macabre:  I wrote a light hearted and fun post that new members who were not here 10 years ago would have no idea why I am posting pictures of an abandoned ice cream facility.  So how is that inaccurate?  Inaccurate = "not true", "incorrect"...  How would a new member who joined during the past 10 years know what I am talking about? I have no idea why you say what I wrote is inaccurate.  Perhaps you don't appreciate light hearted and fun in the main discussion board or think that I am confusing new members here so I will stick to off topic next time.

Sorry--wrong word. Yeah, I don't know what word would work.

I love the ice cream factory stuff--cracks me up. I guess I just worry about what it looks like to miss people from this group out loud when they haven't been here (I don't know Geoff. I came occasionally from 2000-2004 and got more active in 2005).

I don't know--it makes me sad, like people don't want to be our friends, lol.

I guess I have had really bad personally experiences of people at churches I've been a part of who long for folks who left five years prior. In those particular situations, those people focus on who is gone rather than who is there, including all the new people. In those cases, there is unspoken finger pointing at the minister, even though it's a natural cycle in church life. People come. People go. Focusing on those who have gone doesn't help the community move forward.

So--that's a LOT to lay on a lighthearted post here, I know. ;)

Just explaining my post a bit and the stuff I brought to it.

OK, I understand where you are coming from now.  Look forward, don't dwell in the past (I am so old now there is a lot more past to dwell on than future to discover LOL)
