Krispy Kreme Doughnuts

Just tried them today. OMG so good. First real doughnut I've had in almost five years!

DS bought a chocolate cream-filled KK pie at Kroger.  We were celebrating.  He nuked it for 15 seconds. Loved it.

I'm thinking about adding these back into our repertoire. My kids keep asking about them.

I miss them.  I can get some safe doughnuts, but they aren't as good or as fresh.  There might still be a KK out in the west end, but we don't drive by it anymore.

We don't have a KK store here. The only one that was anywhere close (an hour away) closed a while back. Several grocery stores have them though, and they supposedly come from a shop. Not sure which one though. Maybe I can find out.

Yes, there is a KK at Mavis & Britannia (Heartland) in Mississauga, and a small location somewhere near Bathurst and Bloor area in Toronto.

They do sell them at some Petro Canada gas stations as well.  We often see them at the Petro Canada on the north-west corner of Steeles and Dufferin (the clerk told me they get fresh deliveries on Wednesdays that usually sell out within a couple of days).  So maybe you can pick up some there

Somehow the idea of doughnuts from a gas station just sounds so wrong.

They used to sell them at Walmart, but I don't see them there anymore.  However, Walmart does have some safe doughnuts.

Probably different for you, but the Walmart here weirdly has them next to the milk and OJ instead of in the bakery department.

well, the donuts are sold in the mini grocery store at the Petrocan, not by the gas pumps

Getting breakfast at KK tomorrow  I saw there is one right near the hotel we're staying at and the school we are touring tomorrow morning.
